Le Maison en Petits Cubes

I want to share this sweet thing. A short animation Oscar winner. Its original title is Tsumiki No Ie, directed by Kunio Kato (2008) and has official title “Le Maison en Petits Cubes” or “The House of Small Cubes” for the festival.

This story tells about and old man living in a cube house, which additional levels needs to be added each time the water level increases. He lives in an area where most of his neighbors are already leaving to a safer place. He doesn’t. 🙁

He lives his each single day alone, and one time he loses his smoking pipe downwards so that he should dive deep down, and as he passes every levels of his house, memories float in his mind. His wife, his children, his family. His past. :(( :(( :((

A simple story. A touching way to reminds us how great a memories could be, and how we can seize the day we have now. The best thing i can say about this is the music scoring. Well done, director! I cried while watching this movie

PS : one more sweet thing, a short animation nominee called Octapodi. Really cute movie about octopus. This movie then leads me to Santorini this summer \:D/
