When you try your best, but you don’t succeed
When you get what you want, but not what you need
When you feel so tired, but you can’t sleep
Stuck in reverse
Something is keeping you up all night. It is sometimes a glimpse of guilty feeling from the past, or anger you are trying to suppress. None of them matter to you at first, but they are there nonetheless. It is the dream you have left behind, the hope you’re too tired to carry along. It is the failure you always try to deny, the mistakes you never realized you made. It is every single thing haunting you at times.
And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can’t replace
When you love someone, but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?
This time you finally surrender. A white flag waved down your driveway, not knowing that the pain is much deeper than merely admitting defeat. You turn your back reluctantly once in a while, wondering whether something would come up and magically fix that mess. But even then, deep in your heart you know it’s time to let go. To give up things you hold on tight. Could it be worse? Sure thing it could, in many fucking ways imaginable. And then it stabs you right in the heart; you pretend you’re hurt eventhough you’ve already had it coming.
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
But then… what’s life without whimsy? Once in a while we must stop and stare at the universe. Admire how great that is, and how little is our problem compare to that brobdingnagian space out there. Just as the sunflowers are majestically led by the sunshine, lights will also guide you home. Those beautiful yellow and white flowers might not be really sure about when and why and how they will go on living their life, but they are ceaselessly waiting for the morning to come. Your life is also just as beautiful. What you need to do is to take a step back, maybe some deep breaths as well, and get prepared for more surprises. Embrace life, and life will be gleefully take the chance to…
… fix you.
